Tai Chi LifeDances
Presenter - Nigel Catterson

The unique 'Life Dances' programme has been designed to help in reconnecting us to all that really matters as human beings. Whether you are young or old this programme of gentle yet profound series of movements will help you to experience a releasing of the powerful, healing energy within you; your relationship with yourself, and our connection to the elements that surround us that give us life.

'Life Dances' is an easily understood 'energy work' programme that has been conceived and developed by Nigel Catterson. Nigel has been trained as a teacher in the eastern martial art of Tai Chi and Qigung. He has been trained by Native Americans and in the Hawaiian tradition of 'Huna' He has been training others in 'energy work' for over 12 years. Having made extensive in depth studies of 'energy work' from many different cultures Nigel has put together his own unique programme of movements based upon the four elements of earth, air, water and fire. Each of these movements can be easily undertaken by participants of all ages. They require no previous experience or for the participant to be particularly fit.

Movements are built around a 'state of being' and are designed to achieve a 'state change' in the participant through movement, visualisation and breathing.

  • Air - movements connected to mental energy, producing a state of lightness, unfixed and a sense of being 'out of the head'.
  • Water - movements connected to emotional energy, producing a state of flow, sense of direction, stillness and non-resistance.
  • Fire - movements connected to spiritual energy, producing a state of vitality, heat, energy and introspection.
  • Earth - movements connected to physical energy, producing a state of belonging, connectedness, and a sense of being well rooted.
Many who have experienced the 'Life Dance' programme have said that it has had a profound effect on their energy levels, helped them to move on from 'blockages' of the past, and has helped to change their perspective and the way that they look at life.

Finding your Voice - Saturday July 3rd 10am - 4pm
Presenter - Sarah Fraser

Using techniques created by Roy Hart and Pantheatre, this workshop looks at the psychology behind the voice and the constraints society has put upon us as communicative beings. It is a way to look past the idea of ugly and move towards accepting all vocal qualities.

The workshop will teach ways in which to control aspects of your voice as well as using it openly as an instrument. The voice is not solely controlled by the vocal chords, but is part of our whole being. This workshop requires an open mind, but is also a mind opener! Great for anyone with issues in speaking publically, performers wanting to see a new side to their voice, or anyone interested in discovering something new...

Cost - £55 + VAT (includes lunch) - Reserve your place
